The Emus of Campion Valley
Banished from his flock and left to survive alone in the harsh outback, Emu Bob discovers courage he never knew he had. With a ragtag band of misfits at his side, he leads his flock through drought, floods and being captured and caged in an emu farm used for meat.
Ultimately, Emu Bob emerges as the saviour of his nation of emus during the greatest crisis to face the Australian emu.
Extermination.
When the soldiers declare war on a mob of emus in the Western Australian wheatbelt, they expect an easy victory.
What they get instead is the rise of an unlikely hero: Emu Bob - outcast, wanderer, reluctant leader, and future leader of the Red Country Nation of Emu.
But this is more than a tale about THE GREAT EMU WAR, it’s a story of kinship, Country, forgiveness, and the ancient emu spirits who watch from the sky. It’s about finding your mob, finding your purpose, and learning that even the smallest feather can shift the winds of fate.
Epic, funny, and deeply Australian, The Emus of Campion Valley reimagines a real piece of history (THE GREAT EMU WAR of 1932) through the eyes of the birds who lived it - and the legend of the emu who changed everything.

Hello
I'm James S. Flynn

I'm a multidisciplinary introverted storyteller. In my time I've had many careers, from journalism to plumbing. Now I craft stories from my over-active imagination that explores and takes the piss out of every day life. Offering a unique blend of emotional depth, visual texture and dark and witty humor.
I hate publicity but love the craft of writing.
If you delve into my world and discover the art behind my storytelling, I hope you'll find that it transcends boundaries and leaves the characters and their stories with you long after the last page has been turned.
Well, that's my aim anyway, Whether I achieve that goal, I'll let you decide.
When I'm not writing or editing, I'll often be out sailing or fishing or building something in my workshop.
While I hate the limelight, I love hearing from readers. So please drop me a line and let me know what you liked or disliked about my books. I'll certainly try and reply. Just remember if you're going to be critical, be kind and constructive, or I may just bite back! :)
